UAW/Honeywell Picketline

It is November already and the UAW workers at Honeywell have been locked out of their jobs for months.

These brave workers are still struggling against a behemoth company which is intent upon destroying them.

We must continue our solidarity and help picket at Honeywell today, Monday November 7th from 6 PM to 7:30 PM at the Green Island Honeywell Plant.

Join us there to show these workers that we have no forgotten.       You can not miss the large inflated rat on your left.

Monday, Nov. 7th | 6 pm - 7:30 pm | 3 Tibbets Ave.

The company is trying to starve out the workers, and we can not let this happen. If you can’t spend the entire time there, join us for a few minutes. Show your solidarity with the UAW workers. They may come after your job next!

NEWS:

CWA President Shelton, N.Y. Governor Cuomo Blast Verizon for Wireless Layoffs

CWA President Chris Shelton and New York Governor Andrew Cuomo slammed Verizon Communications for the Verizon Wireless layoffs the company announced.

Cuomo's office said the closing of two call centers in New York as part of a nationwide consolidation plan is "an egregious example of corporate abuse – among the worst we have witnessed."

Shelton said Verizon was exhibiting "corporate greed at its worst" by closing call centers and laying off 3,200 retail store workers. He pledged that CWA will keep up the fight against "very greedy" Verizon and will continue to work with Verizon Wireless workers for the union voice they want and so clearly need.

In addition to the store layoffs, Verizon is closing seven call centers affecting thousands of workers in Henrietta and Orangeburg, NY; Bangor, Maine; Lincoln, Nebraska; Wallingford and Meriden, Conn., and Rancho Cordova, Calif.
